Okay so I've been using the builder to help configure my setup as stated in the title I'm using an ender 3 printer, the V4.2.7(silent board) + bltouch. when I input the settings I think I need:

xbedsize 400

ybedsize 400

zbedsize 490

(i have the ender extender kit installed)

Bed levelling probe: (I've turned on)

  • Use-zstop port for Probe
  • Use probe for z homing

bed levelling method:

  • Bilinear Bed levelling

levelling options:

  • Add LCD levelling menu
  • enable probe offset wizard

I then click build, wait and its successfully built. Great! I put the .Bin file on the sd card, plug it into my new v4.2.7 board, the bltouch deploys, retracts, deploys, retracts (lights up) I got to bed level and the bltouch doesn't deploy, I go to auto home bltouch doesn't deploy, I got to the bltouch settings where you can deploy, stow, test all manually and nothing happens.

what am I doing wrong?

my build reference is: 1E3F3A8C-6F7F-11EB-980B-E90D44A4798F

Has your BLTouch ever worked? The power on self test seems good - but it may well be an incorrect wiring setup.

Double check the wiring against the Ender 3 V2 FAQ (same mainboard) and confirm that the 3 pin cable you have is in the right order on your mainboard. You can use the Z-Stop port if you want to for the black / white cable.

FAQ Link:

There's only really two failure modes for the BLTouch:

1) It doesn't deploy - normally the 3 pin cable is wrong, or

2) It doesn't detect contact - normally the 2 pin (black/white) cable is wrong.

@kingkrumble Sorry - I keep forgetting that the forum software makes an invalid link!

Try: https://marlin.crc.id.au/faq/

then click on the Ender 3 V2 link and go to the BLTouch section.
