I can’t tell you if the .cfg file is even accessible in  the Creality versions of Marlin. Worst case you can always make the direct extruder params part of your gcode header … if you use Cura. I don’t know if the other slicers allow for that ability, but Cura does.

@harkon does anybody from Creality ever respond on here? I have an Ender 6 and need Linear Advance as I have a really bad bulge on my corners. Haven’t seen any response from Creality on this for 3 months.

@namsource

I haven’t seen anything from Creality on this. If you have the same hardware as the rest of us, and the same firmware, then it’s nothing in the config file, but something in your slicer settings. If you are using another firmware, then I have no idea. Sorry.

@namsource not responding and not posting posts is starting to piss me off

would also like answers to these kinds of questions but it remains  quiet on the Creality side I almost regret buying the ender6 because I couldn’t  imagine that the respons and aftersale would be so bad even though the ender6 prints very nicely

Just an FYI to all. This is a community forum, not a factory support forum.

Well with stock hardware linear advance is not happening. TMC2208’s need to be done up differently than the way creality does them.  At least that is how I understand the stuff I read about it, since I am looking into upgrading to a current marlin firmware (since creality seems to have forgotten about the Ender6 firmware development and I would like some perks – e.g. some temp adjustments, M600, custom bl-touch placement and linear advance). I got “lucky” and got one of them 4.3.1 A/E boards, so I don’t even have 4 TMC2208. The more I look at it, the more it looks like a board change…. Or I’ll leave stuff out – like the Linear Advance.

@adam5zki I am planning a board change and a screen change. I love the Ender 6, just not the firmware it is using. I need to change the direction of my extruder and the only way I can think of it, is a wire reversal.

It’s kinda messed up but on the Marlin site there is current firmware with config files for the board and the screen available. I haven’t yet taken the plunge though
