I’ve had the printer freeze mid print several times, usually around 75% complete. The print head stays in place, the fans remain spinning and it stays at temperature. The same print failed twice, I traced my steps and rebuilt the model and generated new Gcode to have it fail again. A different, smaller print then worked fine before the problem returned with a different print.

If i turn off the printer and back on i regain control of the screen and can pause/stop the print but resuming it returns it to the position it froze in and refreezes

@scruffy_rattray we may consider there is a chance of the mainboard faulty and you can ask for a mainboard replacement. You can also open the bottom cover to check the temperature of the BM when it’s running. Insufficient cooling could be one factor.

The one thing I hadn’t checked was the microSD card. After using a different one the problem went away, hope that helps @coffeecremator & @mashmosh

I had the same problem and noted that the G-code-file was damaged. I let Windows repair the drive, i.e. the micro SD-card and voila it works again.

So, check your SD-card!

I have the same problem but managed to solve it.

In my case, I recently installed CR touch. Immediate on my first print, what you described happened to me.

I retraced my actions and recalled that I did manage to do some cable management while retrofitting.

What I suspect is EMC causing the problem, so I separated power cables from the signal cables. That solved my problem.

Hope it works for you.

I’m having this problem as well, but now I think it’s the board itself.  The printer is having a hard time reading my SD cards and I can’t even connect it to my laptop, it doesn’t see the printer at all, even after installing the driver for the printer.  I’m currently putting in a request for a new board
