Bltouch not working

I have purchased my bltouch for the creality ender 3 v2 through the creality website ( it is not a clone ). I also have the right firmware on the printer. When I turn on the printer the bltouch goes solid red and goes in and out twice. When I press the auto level the bltouch moves down towards the print bed and pushes the little stick inside the bltouch hits the print bed the little stick does not automatically jump up, instead it pushes against the print bed until the bltouch turns red. Once it turns red the z axis does not stop moving it just rams the nozzle into the print bed this also happens when I auto home.I tried pushing the little stick with my finger  when it was higher up and the bltouch turns red and does not stop going down. I have been at this for months now and have tried everything I can think of. Is the bltouch faulty or is it something else. I don’t know what to do and have been at this for months. Please respond as soon as possible.

Would you mind sharing with us which firmware do you use and which mainboard is on your printer?

There is an article about the BLtouch installation guide, hope this would help you:

How is the BLTouch plugged in? Do you have the 5pin Molex (white) plug going into the single motherboard connector? Re-check connectors and make sure they're all home.

Are you 'sure' you have the right firmware and are you sure it did actually install over the stock firmware.

If you left the old Z-stop switch connected, take the gantry up to at least 100mm and perform an auto-home, as the gantry lowers, press the Z-stop switch. If the gantry stops moving, you have the wrong firmware.

Regardless of all above, you may prefer to use the new Jyers/Marlin firmware. Just ensure you download the correct one for your motherboard:

@cyt For the firmware and wiring I have been using the smith3d guide. My main board version is 4.2.2. Thanks for the reply!

@wurlitzerwilly the kit I received is the one with the 5 pin going into the bltouch and into the board as a 3 pin and a 2 pin. I have wired the bltouch according to creality’s video tutorial. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lI9ISEPPX0w. The software on their site for the with adapter board will not load onto my printer. Because of this I tried using the smith3d guide either their wiring and software which did not work. Also the z-stop switch is not connected. I will try doing the procedure listed in your post to see if I got the right firmware. Thanks for the reply!

@hamilton123500  My experience told me that there were two options of wiring in your case. To make sure you download the correct firmware file, I suggest downloading the file from this website: https://forums.creality3dofficial.com/download/ender-series/ender-3-v2/.

Depends on different wiring, you need to choose the corresponding firmware. :

1) if you use an adaptor when you connect bltouch with the 4.2.2 board, you should download it. Ender3 V2-4.2.2 - Marlin-2.0.1-BL-Touch-V1.3.1(with adapter board) version firmware.

2) if you didn't use an adaptor, but directly connect to the motherboard. You should downloadEnder3 V2-4.2.2  Marlin-2.0.1-BL-Touch – V1.1.1(without adapter board) version.

Hope this would help.
