I have bought 2 steppers now and they both do this. I'm attempting to quiet the (y-axis I think) motor action on the bed movement. I had to buy a new motor (off brand and then Creality brand) because the one shipped didn't have a removable pulley.
I put a pulley on the new motor, plug in the cable and do a Auto-home and it gets to the end of the bed movement and makes a bad noise, like it's going to rattle off. It seems like it's not getting the "stop here" from the switch.

@bubbleboy If you want a quiet printer, changing the motor is not a good idea. It's the motherboard that decides whether it's quiet or not. The board is like the human brain, give the quiet movement instruction to the motor.
Thanks kevin, yea, I'm just following some youtubers and their recommendations for quieting things. I have the quiet motherboard on a list somewhere, I'll give it a go.
