Not getting past the first few layers

I am looking at the first test line. It often has zig zag in it and stringing near the end. There are no major blow outs anymore but I can't get past the first layers before something goes wrong. I want to lower the speed and adjust retraction settings but I can't find the retraction settings. Do I need something called cura software?

Any help greatly appreciated

Also despite being leveled well and the temp at 200. The first line never starts at the beginning. It goes half way down the bed before filament reaches and stays on the surface

The nozzle moving slowly towards the bed doing the first line is normal, don't think too complicated about first lines, it's doing fine.
Yes, you need slicer program like Cura to prepare items you download and tune settings.
IdeaMaker is also nice program to slice objects for printing.
