Hello members and specialists

I have a 3d printer (anycubic i3) and want to change to the Ender 3 Max since a few months.... today i did it! I bought two printers (for my brother and me) and i'm very happy.

I love marlin and use ist on my printer now. I hope i can also use it on the ender.

Now i read a lot of about missing bootloader on the Ender 3. I will try to install the bootloader on the board, but how can i know, which board version i have?

So i want to ask, which board is inside the printer?

Is it correct, that some printers have install a bootloader or the marlin firmware?

Thank you for your help.

I bought it there:this printer

There is only 32-it board in the infos.

@jumbo125 If you open the mainboard case, you can find the board version number on your mainboard. All Creality FDM printers have installed bootloader and the Marlin firmware.

@jumbo125 It should be 4.2.2 mainboard for Ender3 Max. I do NOT recommend you flash the firmware if you are NOT going to add new accessories, like BL Touch. As if the printer works well now, why you want to flash the new firmware.

All Creality FDM printers' firmware is based on Marlin. You already have it.

Okay. I understand...

i only want to use the mesh bed leveling function.
i have the I3 mega printer and the bed was warped and I was so happy about this function.

i will be use it, if I have the same problem on the Ender

@jumbo125

i just replaced my 4.2.2 stock board in my Max yesterday with a 4.2.7 board and compiled Marlin. Runs great and truly silent!!

@jumbo125  The only way that I know is to look at the mainboard.  Yes, you have to open the case.  My E3 Max came with the 4.2.7.

@jumbo125 I was able to use the BL Touch and the mesh bed leveling using the firmware I linked above. However I can't connect using USB, any thoughts on that?
