so,
long stories cut short…for some reason i was experiencing 100 percent print failure rate after 3 months of great printing with petg, pla, and abs. all of my prints were appearing to be underextruded but i would find the nozzle and exiting portion of the boden tube clogged. went back and forth with cold pulls, settings, retractions, and in that time the extruder gear disintegrated. replaced it with creality all metal unit and after a single ok test print, the problem continued but with more discernable under extrusion. ran tests and determined my esteps resulted in a 4mm under extrusion from 100mm. using octoprint, inputted the corrected esteps and saved to eprom. under extrusion corrected, though i was experiencing severe heat creep and the bowden tube would have melted pla halfway to the extruder side bowden fitting. i have since installed a heatbrake to replace the stock one and am now not experiencing the heat creep.
so,
after getting everything set up, now when i run a print from an updated cura, using the standard cr6 se profile with 15% infill, my print does not home or level, then starts printing very fast in the middle of the bed to the rear, then to the back right side, running the extruder very fast while the nozzle is against the bed and after a minute of doing so, the carriage starts rising as the extruder continues. ive resliced the file a number of times, formatted the sd card, power cycled the printer, and printed from the cura terminal, all of which results in the same.

@ogkw87 Hi my friend, I am not very familiar with the G code. But according to your description, if I were you, I will re-flash the firmware to see if anything better as your printer acts strangely now.
base on your description of symptom on your 2nd paragraph, it sounds like the starting g-code wasn’t correct. Have you try remove the printer profile from cura and re-create it?
@nice I did a fresh install of cura with a fresh profile. That’s how I sliced it.
@kevin I’m going to give that a try on my next day off with the community firmware. I tried updating my firmware through the creality instructions after these issues began and ended up having to reset to the original firmware due to constant failures. I see that there is a community firmware package that seems promising so I will try that and report back.
update:
I updated the firmware successfully. cleaned everything and it changed nothing. Either it is under-extruding during printing which I cannot rationalize or the thermistor on the hotend is faulty.
The heatcreep has gone on unabated and I haven’t touched this printer in months because of this. The wind in my sails for printing is gone currently.
if anyone has anything else to offer or suggest I would again, greatly appreciate it.
