The internet seems to suggest you ruin the glass bed using a solvent (iso-propyl alcohol etc) to clean the bed (although this video @ 12:25 does)

I tried with dishwashing liquid in hot water and it's not cleaned the PETG residue off, so I'm also looking for advice.

What are trying to clean off? Glue? Grease? Printing residue?

Silly me, thinking that it was called a "carborundum" glass bed because it's actually made of silicon carbide(carborundum), I used a razor scraper to clean it and destroyed whatever textured coating is on the surface.

So definitely not a carbide coating.

FWIW the residue on my razor was a middle-yellow/amber-ish color, which is similar to the color I get on a paper towel when cleaning with 70%IPA, so that may not be safe either.

I'll order another glass bed, but I'll hold off on using it until the safe cleaning issue is settled.

(I'm kind of cheesed they called it carborundum if you couldn't tell, it's like saying "the cr-6 has a titanium frame!" then saying "oh, lol, titanium is what we call our proprietary aluminum extrusions")

Did we not get an answer to this? I'm I slowly ruining my bed?
