(This happened once before but I thought I selected the extruder and not z by accident for a short distance.) Tonight, a print failed after about 30 minutes, I stopped the print and moved Z up 5mm to disable the motors and move the bed manually (trying to avoid nozzle crash) when I did so, the extruder expelled filament for a distance of probably 8-10 meters (about what had just printed).
I used Ender3-V2-Stock-20210112, note this is a different printer than the other one I am still trying to get a stable firmware for in another thread.
@anthonyender I think this might be the problem you are describing?
